The Da'wat-ul-Haqq is eternal and ever lasting. This is the Da'wat established by Allah Jalla shaanohu through His noble Prophets. The Da'wat of unification, exaltation, nature and completeness was present before the Creation of the Earth and Heavens. The Da'wat was established by the gleam and the knowledge of wahdaaniyat which initiated in the worlds of purity (‘aalam-e-safaa) , holiness (‘aalam-e-quds) , intellect (‘aalam-e-aql) and gracefulness (‘aalam-e-lataafat) . As time passed and the Creations of Allah grew and spread, the Da'wat was transferred to this world of existence and depravity. Today this Da'wat is existent and continued in the period of concealment that is in the period of shari'at (the revealed and the canonical Law of Islam) of Rasulullah (SAWS). The ascension of mumineen from this physical world to the world of holiness and spirituality takes place only because of the Da'wat (mission) , shari'at, ‘ilm (knowledge) and ‘amal (actions) . Mumineen ascend the eight ranks of Da'wat one after the other and finally unites with the colossal haykal (spiritual framework) of Imaam (AS) and Imaamat. The time when Allah created the intellects, there were minimum 27 of them to accept and accede to the Da'wat of Allah. This auspicious number of 27 followers continued in every period and time. Whether he is Nabi (Prophet, Rasool) or Wasi (deputy or successor of Nabi ); Imaam or Da'i, there are minimum 27 disciples who reciprocates to his Da'wat and bows down to his order and commandment.
The same tradition continued where there were 27 faithful and loyal followers who accepted and responded to the Da'wat of Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR). They recognized the truth and the Nass-e-Jali (conspicuous ordinance) and entered into the fold of true holy mission i.e. Da'wat-e-Hadiyah. Saiyedna Mohammad bin Taaher (QR), the learned and the superior, the writer of the du'a (supplication) of ‘aql-e-awwal (first intellect), quotes while revealing the hidden and concealed truths ( haqaa'iq ), in one of his esoteric and arcane books that, “There are always 27 followers of Da'wat in every period by which the ranks of Da'wat are completed. These ranks will prove the truthfulness and the meaning of Kalima-e-Shahaadat (the aphorism of testimony) and are always its guardian.”
There is a detailed account and description of the history of conspicuous ordinance on Saiyedna ‘Ali bin Ibraaheem ash-Shaheed (QR), who is the crown of Du'aat-ul-Mutlaqeen (QR), the leader of mumineen, the glow of the vision of submissive, the hope of the expectation of needy. His brilliance rose when he became Da'i-ul-Mutlaq which was the period of secrecy and confinement. At that time he had few supporter, helper and adjutant but they were his loyal, faithful and devoted believers. In spite of all difficulties and hardships, with the protection, patronage and auspices of his followers, soon the Da'wat reached to the pinnacle, an important foundation of shari'at was laid and the base of Da'wat strengthened overtly and openly. His grandfather, the 28 th Da'i-e-Anwar Saiyedna Shaikh Aadam Safiyuddin bin Taiyeb shah bin Malak bin Ismaa'eel (QR), on 3rd Rajab 1030 A.H., ordained and appointed Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) as the next Da'i after him and the leader and the guide of the three lands (hind, sind and yemen) , in the presence of his assembly members, few of the entitled members and mumineen. Before this many times in the religious gatherings and assemblies, Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) secretly ordained Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) as his successor.
31 st Da'i ul-Mutlaq Saiyedna Badruddin Hasan bin Wali (QR) vividly describes the whole account of Nass-e-Jali on Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) in his book named “Isbaat un-Nass ‘alad Da'i Saiyedna ‘Ali Shamsuddin bin Ibraaheem wa hujjat il-Mutaghallib”. In one instance, when Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) was seated near Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) with his disciples; Ibraaheemji bin Shaikh Mohammad, Qaasimji bin Feer, Taiyebji bin Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR), ‘Ali Mohammad bin Dawood, Ameenji bin Jalaal and Ya'qoob bin Nizaam Dakhkhani; Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) ordered Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) to enrich and develop the region of Dakhkhan with the knowledge of Da'wat. He also commanded him to educate and teach all the knowledge and learning of Da'wat to Ya'qoob bin Nizaamuddin who used to stay in that region. He also instructed that this region should not remain empty without the blessings and favors of Da'wat. He also cautioned Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) not to waste time and accomplish the task at the earliest. Then after qadambosi of Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) he left.
It is mentioned that on 4th Rajab 1030 AH, Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) disclosed to his close companion; Chandmiya bin Abuji, who was the grandson of Saiyedna Dawoodji bin Qutub shah (QR) and Hasankhan bin ‘Alikhan; that he intends to ordain Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) as his heir ( mansoos ). He then addressed to Hasankhan and said, “O Hasankhan, when the issue of keeping the Hajr-e-Aswad (black stone) in its original place was approached to Rasulullah (SAWS), instead of keeping the stone in its place by himself, he ordered the people of Quraysh to hold the ends of a carpet on which Rasulullah (SAWS) placed the stone. When they all came near the Ka'bah along with the carpet, Rasulullah (SAWS) took the stone in his hand and he himself placed it in its original place. So, O Hasankhan, my grandson ‘Ali bin Ibraaheem will be my successor, so when he shines out in the Da'wat as the next Da'i-ul-Mutlaq, you will have to give help, support and succor to the Da'wat of ‘Ali.” After listening to all these words, Hasankhan bowed down and prostrated to maula and gave an oath.
Even on 6th Rajab 1030 AH, Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) passed an open ordinance on Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) in the presence of all the assembly members and instructed them to obey and comply with Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR). He also remarked that “Inna ‘Aliyan fil jannate”, which means Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) and his followers - mumineen are the dwellers of Paradise . Saiyedna Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) died on 7 th Rajab 1030 AH and Saiyedna ‘Ali (QR) offered the Namaaz of Janaazah. Burial was done at the place where all the relatives of Safiyuddin Saheb (QR) were buried. Saiyedna ‘Ali then became the Da'i-ul-Mutlaq and established the Da'wat ul-Haqq in Ahmedabad.
