Translation : - Allaah, the Purest and the Praiseworthy, is the Real Light and the root, origin and source of all lights! It is He who disseminates all lights existent in this world. And He has bestowed upon this light to His Creation, according to His Will (e.g. on Prophet Moosa (as) on the mountain of Toor ). His Angels are Light, Prophet Muhammad (saws) is Light and his progeny Ahl ul-Bayt (as) are also Light and Illumination, and even Qur'an-e-Shareef is Light. All Prophets, Vicegerents, Imams, and Du'aat are the embodiment of that divine light and illumination. And it is no exaggeration to say that even a Mumin has a ray of that divine light. Not only his good deeds are considered light but even his prayers and supplications assume that form. And lastly the whiteness of his beard when he becomes old denotes light and illumination.
Allaah brought down his divine orders on Messengers in the form of light (aayaat) and when they were compiled it became a holy book like Qur'an whose rightful guardians are the A'immat-e-Taahereen (as). These divine revelations praise Allaah in the beginning, who deserves mention (zikr), whose fame is discussed with pride (azmat), and who is always remembered during the times of both adversity and prosperity. O Allaah, Shower your praise (salawaat) on Muhammad (saws) and his progeny.
Fazeelat: If a person reads, recites and then understands the meaning of the above du'aa, he will be bestowed upon with Allaah's and Qur'an's blessings, and his love for Da'wat will increase, his vision will become more sharper, and he will be free from the vagaries and vicissitudes of life!
It is narrated from Ahl ul-Bayt (as) that: “Whosoever recites this du'aa after the Fajr prayers with full understanding of its meaning and with our recognition, will be entitled to a place in Paradise.”
