The ten days of Moharram and a Daily routine of a Husaini Mumin
   
 
   
 

"Zikr-e-Husain asl mai Jannat ki nidaa hai,
Imaan zindah hota hai har Karbala ke ba'ad."

   
 

The Azaadari, Maatam and Aah-o-zaari of Imaam Husain (as) have injected new josh, strength and vigor to our imaani lives. It has taught us to blend the Deen with Duniyaa – which is a supreme message of Islaam. Neither Deen nor Duniyaa, alone, will succeed us to attain the perfection of our life. Imaam Husain (as) has awakened us from the slumber and shook us from the laziness of the world by instilling the warmth of his martyrdom into our Qalb (heart) and Zameer (conscience). The 10 days of Moharram ul-Haraam have molded us in the beautiful and charismatic character of an ideal Mumin. He follows all the obligations of Shari'at as well as of the world, in a single day.

The day of a Mumin starts with the Namaaz of Fajr and he would never afford to miss the Namaaz of Imaamat in the Masjid in these auspicious days – in which Imaam Husain (as) ascended the Mafhoom (understanding) of Namaaz by embracing the martyrdom in the Namaaz. He is not at all in a hurry to leave the Masjid. After offering Namaaz and listening to the Du'a of Faatehah, names of the nooraani Imaam and Du'aat as well as the Surah Yaseen, he recites the Qur'an. He then follows the mumineen and goes for the Ziyaarat of Muqaddas Maula (aq) at Bustaan-e-Badri. Following his routine, after taking his breakfast he plans for his livelihood in the whole day. But he knows that Moharram ul-Haraam has brought a divine and eternal reward of Jannat for him and also he is aware of easy way of getting it. For him, the life after death is more important than the mortal remains of this world. His business plans and other preoccupations take a back seat and he worries about whether he will be able to attend the Majlis-e-Imaam Husain (as) or not.

He thinks whether he will see the ayyaam of Moharram ul-Haraam next year or not. Whether his good deeds and aamal-e-saalehaat, which he will do for the whole year, will reward him with the blessings with which he will attend the Majlis-e-Husain (as) next year or not. Because he knows that if the year begins with the Azaadari of Imaam Husain (as), he will reap good fortune and luck for the remaining year. Without wasting any time he gets ready for the Majlis-e-Imaam Husain (as) in the morning. He advices and encourages his children, wife and other family members for the same as he also want his family members to share the same rank and Martabah of Malaa'ekat (angel) of Allaah in the Aakherat. His soul rejoices by listening to the Nooraani Kalemaat and Pand-o-Naseehat of Mazoon saheb (dm). He frees himself from all the worries and sorrows of the world by shedding tears on the Masaa'ib (difficulties and hardships) of Imaam Husain (as). As no worry, sorrow, grief, mourning and torment of this world is greater and supreme than that of Imaam Husain (as) and Ahl ul-Bayt (as). We pray to Allaah not to make us cry on anything of this world, but Imaam Husain (as).

In the Majlis-e-Imaam Husain (as) of Moharram ul-Haraam, which is complete and absolute in every facet, aspect and way of Shari'at, a mumin not only wins over his eternal life, but also learns to lead this worldly and mortal life in a Taiyeb (virtuous) and Taahir (pure) way. He knows that no where in the world he will find the shadow of Majlis-e-Imaam Husain (as) like he does in our Majlis. Our Majlis, our Maatam, our Wa'az, our Azaadari and our Walaayat and Mohabbat of Imaam Husain (as) are the identity of our community. The world may be different or dissimilar, but he knows that our Aqeedah and belief is too high for anyone in this world to reach – because we are on Truth and Haqq and it is with us because we have inherited it from Saiyed ul-Ambiyaa Mohammad Rasoolullaah (saws), Maulaana Ali (as), A'immat-e-Taahereen (as) and Du'aat-e-Akrameen (aq) – who all are Siraat ul-Mustaqeem for us. Who else can show us the right path to Allaah except them?

Knowing all the truth in a straight way – can an ideal Mumin ever think of attending the Majlis of others whose authenticity and credibility of what they claim themselves to be is questionable? Undoubtedly we are complete in every sense and we don't need to search for a complete thing in this incomplete and imperfect world of the people of other thoughts. O mumineen, the Walaayat of Maulaana Ali(as) and Ahl ul-Bayt (as) has completed the religion for us in its entirety which is a Ne'mat-e-Uzmaa (great bounty) for us – as Allaah says in the Qur'an, “Al yauma akmalto lakum deenakum wa atmamto ‘alaykum ne'mati wa razeeto lakomul islaama deena.” Whoever, in spite of being aware of the Haqq, goes and attends the Majlis of others has knowingly committed an unlawful act which will fall down upon him as a sin. The hypocrites and disbelievers contend that we attend the Majlis for sake of listening about Imaam Husain (as) and Karbala. We don't share our views or Aqeedah with them. O mumineen, knowledge is like water. Water is present everywhere like knowledge. Allaah has showered his bounty upon us and granted us the ‘intellect'. We all know which water is potable and which is not. Before drinking water, we all assure whether it is purified or not? The same is true for the knowledge – may it be related to any thing. We must assure that whether it is purified or not? O mumineen, our Majlis-e-Imaam Husain (as) is the source from where only purified water and knowledge flows which will not harm you or make you sick. We are endorsed with the label of “pure” and “mineralized” by our A'immat-e-Taahereen (as) and Maulaana Ali (as). Others don't have this tag, hence the water which you drink from there or what ever you listen from there in form of impure knowledge may harm you or make you sick mentally which may adversely affect your daily deeni aamaal and your perception towards the reality of life. Intellectuals only need hints. May Allaah guide the deviated and estranged.

Let us turn towards the Seerat of Mumin. After attending the Majlis, he leaves from the Masjid with his family members. He never misses drinking water from the Sabeel-e-Imaam Husain (as). As Mazoon Saheb (dm) says in his taqreer, “O mumineen, haven't you witnessed the Elaahi Noor in our Mohalla and Haqeeqi Husaini Jazbah (true cadence of Imaam Husain (as)) in the youth of our Jamaa'at?” The Badri Mohalla of Saiyedna Ziyauddin Saheb (aq) is dotted with Sabeel every where, where our mumineen drinks water and recites Salawaat on Imaam Husain (as). Mumineen of all the age groups have sunk in the remembrance of Karbala and its Martyrs. The entire Mohalla echoes with the voices Noha in the Sabeel. Our youth have engaged themselves in collecting the funds and spending it in the name of Imaam Husain (as). They arrange for the Sharbat, Milk and Sheerni (sweets). Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) says in the blissful tone that, “O mumineen, recollect the words of Rasoolullaah (saws) that whoever spends even 1 dirham or the smallest amount of his wealth in the name of my grandson Imaam Husain (as), Allaah will grant him 70 Hasanat (good deeds). The Elaahi Noor and Husaini Jazbah reaches at its acme every passing day. O mumineen, we have witnessed the Paradise in these days.”

Hayaat-e-Taiyebah is a perfect blend of Deen with Duniyaa. To accomplish this mission, a mumin then goes for his daily routine – to his business. A true Husaini mumin never fails to offer his Zohr-Asr namaaz and he most possibly comes in the Masjid and takes the Sawaab of Namaaz-e-Imaamat. Muminaat have etched something extra for them in these days. They wait for these days to come. After taking lunch, they get ready for the Majlis-e-Imaam Husain (as) which assembles specially for Muminaat at about 1515 hrs in Masjid un-Noorani. The Majlis is headed by Umm ul-Mumineen Maa Sahebah. The Saiyedaat of Da'wat recites the Salaam, Marsiya and Noha of Ahl-e-Bayt-e-Husain (as). Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) gave the Razaa mubaarak for the Majlis of Muminaat few years back. Not a single home remains from where Muminaat does not attend the Majlis. Muminaat then leaves for the dinner of Niyaaz-e-Husain (as) in the Jamaa'at khaana.

The fall of the day witnesses huge number of mumineen offering Namaaz of Maghrib in the Masjid. For all 10 days of Moharram ul-Haraam, the selected Zaakereen of Da'wat recites the Salaam and Noha between the Namaaz of Maghrib and ‘Ishaa il-Aakherat. After the Namaaz, Mumineen have dinner of Niyaaz-e-Husain arranged by the members of various Anjuman of their particular areas. Not a single mumin goes without having the dinner of Niyaaz-e-Husain (as). A typical day of Moharram ul-Haraam for a mumin begins with the name of Allaah and Zikr-e-Imaam Husain (as) and ends with the same. Truly these fortunate days comes to those who have Ma'refat and recognition of Azaadari of Imaam Husain (as). May Allaah prolong our span of life so that we can witness these days again next year.
