Du’aa and Namaaz at Masjid e Shajarah

It was the practice of Rasoolullaah SAWS that whenever he returned to Madinah from any excursion, he used to stop over at this place before entering into the city of Madinah. Later, a mosque was built at this place which came to be known as Masjid e Shajarah because it was surrounded by Date trees.

He used to offer Namaaz and perform Du’aa at the place called Ma’arras which is currently behind the wall of Qiblah in the courtyard of the Masjid. This is the place of Bay’at ur Rizwaan where Nabiyullaah took the oath of his selected companions for Maulaana 'Ali AS.

Mumineen should visit this mosque before entering al Masjid an Nabawi and offer 2 rak'at Namaaz and recite Du’aa at Ma’arras. This is the practice of Rasoolullaah SAWS which we follow till now. Masjid e Shajarah is now popularly called as Masjid e Zul Hulayfah or Masjid e Miqaat.

  al-Masjid un Nabawi

Ra’s ul Hudood Saheb entered al Masjid un Nabawi along with the Mumineen by giving a short idea about the significance and history of the Masjid in his Bayaan in its Sahen. Mumineen after entering from Baab us Salaam went further in the passage reciting the Du’aa and Salaam near the Zareeh of Rasoolullaah SAWS. If it is not possible or not allowed to recite the Du’aa in the passage, Mumineen should enter the Masjid area and recite all Du’aas anywhere closer to the Mimbar of al Masjid un Nabawi.

Majlis in the Sahen of al Masjid an Nabawi

Ra's ul Hudood Saheb did the Majlis in the Sahen of al Masjid un Nabawi on the occasion of Milaad - Wafaat of Rasoolullaah SAWS. Kalaam of Na'at were recited in the Sahen near the area where there used to be house of Abu Ayyub Ansaari RA - one of the selected companion of Rasoolullaah SAWS in whose house he stayed for several months. She Camel of Rasoolullaah SAWS stopped near his house. He purchased the land of al Masjid un Nabawi from two orphans. A short history was narrated in the Bayaan on the way to al Masjid un Nabawi.

  Jannat ul Baqee'

It is also called as Baqee’ ul Gharqad because this piece of land was once full of thorny vegetations - typical of desert region. Rasoolullaah SAWS first buried Usmaan bin Maz'oon in this land which later came to be known as Jannat ul Baqee' as Islaam spread on the hands of Rasoolullaah SAWS during his stay in Madinah.

Maulaatona Faatemah az Zahraa SA is buried in Jannat ul Baqee' along with the 5 A’immat e Faatemiyeen SA in single corner which is on the right side after entering in the Baqee'. Maulaana 'Abbaas SA - paternal uncle of Rasoolullaah SAWS also shares the same place.  Daughters, Wives and Paternal aunts of Rasoolullaah SAWS - all are buried in this cemetery.

Maulaatona Faatema bint Asad SA - mother of Maulaana 'Ali SA, Maulaana Ibrahim RA - son of Rasoolullaah SAWS, Maulaana 'Aqeel RA - brother of Maulaana 'Ali SA, Maulaana ‘Abdullaah bin Ja’far ut-Taiyaar, Haleemah Sa'diyah RA etc are buried in this cemetery.

Nisfullayl Namaaz in the Sahen of al Masjid an Nabawi

It is highly auspicious and rewarding to offer Namaaz e Nisfillayl and Tahajjud in al Masjid un Nabawi as long as you stay in Madinah. And if you get Friday night, then you must not miss this glorious night to offer Namaaz. Ra's ul Hudood Saheb along with the Mumineen offered Nisfullayl Namaaz in the Sahen of al Masjid un Nabawi and took Wasilah on Friday night.

Maulaana Amir Hamzah RA and Ohud Maidaan

Ohud is the second important Battle after Badr which was fought on the outskirts of Madinah. Paternal Uncle of Rasoolullaah SAWS, Maulaana Amir Hamza RA was Martyred in this Battle.  Rasoolullaah SAWS was injured in this Battle when Muslims, in over confidence of being victorious moved away from their destined position. Masjid e Qubaa

Masjid e Qubaa is the first Masjid to be constructed in the History of Islaam in Madinah after the Hijrah. Rasoolullaah SAWS stayed in Qubaa until Maulaana 'Ali SA arrived in Madinah. According to our belief Tahweel ul Qiblah - Change of Direction of Qiblah took place in this Masjid after the Hijrah when Rasoolullaah SAWS was praying Zohr Namaaz. Hence we offer 2 rakaat Namaaz in this Masjid and recite Du'aa near outer right pillar facing Bayt ul Muqaddas. Conversely, the Kingdom as constructed another masjid known as Masjid e Qiblatayn about which they say that Change of Qiblah took place there - which is not correct.

Apart from Masjid e Qubaa other Masaajid of Madinah include Masjid e Fath, Masjid e 'Ali, Masjid e Faatema, Masjid e Ra'yah, Masjid e Zainab bint Jahash (Jumo'ah Masjid), Masjid e Fazeekh etc where offering Namaaz and going there is not always possible in a constrained time frame. Mumineen offers the 2 rakaat Namaaz of all these Masaajid in Masjid e Qubaa.

Mosques and Historical places in and around Madinah

Apart from al Masjid un Nabawi, in the itinerary of Umrah Mufradah, there are several Mosques and Historical places in and around Madinah worth visiting. Mumineen this time got a chance to visit Badr. Its a day long trip which includes a visit to Ground of Battle of Badr and visiting two wells on the way to Badr - Bi'r e Rawha and Bi'r e Shifaa.

Near Bi'r e Rawha, Ra's ul Hudood Saheb DM gave a short speech highlighting a deep connection of Water with Ahl ul Bayt SA. It is said that Rasoolullaah SAWS stopped at Bi'r e Rawha when he was on the way to Badr. Before his visit the water of the well was infamous for its bitter taste and a cause of illness to humans as well as livestock. Rasoolullaah SAWS spat in the well and did Du'aa after which the water turned sweet and exhibited healing powers. Since then the well is famous among the visitors.

Battle of Badr

Battle of Badr was the first Battle of Islaam in which Rasoolullaah SAWS along with 313 Muslims fought disbelievers at Badr near Madinah. Disbelievers were thousands in number. It is the Battle in which Allaah Ta'aala descended Angels to help Muslims. There was rainfall in Badr which made the ground difficult for Camels to walk as the sand got mixed with water. Allaah Ta'aala also refreshed stamina of Muslims by Deep Sleep. Several miracles were witnessed by the Muslims in this Battle and it was eventually won by the Muslims. This victory was pivotal and formed a foundation of the future military expeditions and the spread of Islaam.

Ra's ul Hudood Saheb narrated a short history in the Ground of Badr among the Mumineen. There is a Masjid at one end of the ground which is called Masjid e 'Areesh. Mumineen offered Imaamat Namaaz of Zohr - Asr in the Masjid. At a short distance from the ground there is a graveyard of Badr where Martyrs of Badr are buried. Entry is prohibited and the graveyard can only be seen from the periphery.

Outside Badr there are few Sand Dunes which distinctly rises in the middle of the rocky terrain and barren mountains. These Sand Dunes are called Jabal e Malaa’ekat - The mountains where Angels of Allaah descended for Muslims.

It was practice of Rasoolullaah SAWS to stop over at this place before entering in the Madeenah. He used to take Bay'at of his close and selected companions about the Wasaayat of Maulaana 'Ali SA. It is called Masjid e Shajarah because originally the structure of the Masjid was very small surrounded by lush date trees. They were those who asked for Miracles from Rasoolullaah SAWS and questioned about the Nubuwat.

Ghaar e Hira - Jabal e Noor. Qur'an revelation started here. Qur'an is Noor so the mountain where its revelation started is called Jabal e Noor - Mountain of Noor. Arafah is the Mount where Muslims seeks Salvation and Forgiveness from Allaah. Salvation is Rahmat of Allaah without which we would land in the Fire of Hell. Hence that Mountain is called Jabal e Rahmat. Rasoolullaah SAWS used to frequent the outskirts of Makkah because disbelievers harassed him for the Worship of Allaah. He used to go to the mountains alone and do the Ibaadat of Allaah. Ghaar e Hiraa or Cave of Hiraa is a mountain on the outskirts of Makkah where Quranic revelation began by Surah e 'Alaq.
