An Elocution Competition was organized by the Mohtamim of Madrasat-e-Taiyebiyah Mulla Ameeruddin G. Zariwala on 16th Zilqa’adat il- Haraam 1429 / 13th November 2008, Thursday, at Masjid-e-Taiyebi in the morning at around 08:00 hrs for its Taalib-e-Ilm (students). The event was headed by Maazoon Saheb Saiyedi Haatim Zakiyuddin (dm) and the Hudood-e-Kiraam. The event began with the recitation of the Qur’an and Sadaqallaah in the remembrance of the Urs Mubaarak of 29th Da’i ul-Mutlaq Shaheed-e-Aa’zam of Hind Saiyedna Ali bin S. Ibraahim ash-Shaheed (aq) and 32nd Da’i ul-Anwar Baani-e-Da’wat-e-Alaviyah Fee Bilaad-e-Vadodara Saiyedna Ziyauddin Jivabhai bin S. Noohji (aq) which fall in the month of Zilqa’adat il-Haraam. The event was concluded with the Majlis-e-Imaam Husain (as) and Zikr-e-Ahl ul-Bayt (as). The topics on which the students presented their views and understanding in the competition were mainly related to the Zikr of Du’aat ul-Akrameen (aq) of Hindustan. This was the first opportunity for the Mumineen staying around Ajwa Road area to witness such an event in which more than 400 Taalib-e-Ilm of Madrasah enthusiastically participated.
Maazoon Saheb (dm), in his taqreer, encouraged the participants of the event and the Mumineen who attended the event. He said that, ‘I am moved by the talent of the students and the way they have come up with the haqeeqat-e-tareekh and their views in the competition. It was difficult for the judges to declare the winner among them.’ He emphasised in his speech that these students are the future of the Jamaa’at and it is the matter of pride for us that we are seeing a bright future for the Jamaa’at. Citing the Hadees-e-Nabawi in which Rasoolullaah (saws) says, “Utlobul ilma minal mahde elal lahde”, this means that, ‘Acquire knowledge from the cradle to the grave.’ Maazoon Saheb (dm) highlighted the level of education of the Alavi Jamaa’at and the way the youth of the community have progressed in acquiring higher education in all the fields; in India as well as overseas. He advised the Mumineen and the students that, ‘You may go anywhere for your education and higher studies, but never forget or leave your roots and identity.’ He exemplified his view and stated that, ‘However vast and huge a tree may become, but its roots are the cause of its life; it gets its nutrients, food and water from them. We are like a same tree which has grown with time but we should never overlook our fundamentals and origin. We should never forget our Alaviyat and Faatemiyat. Our life, identity and the cause of our existence in this world is adhered to the existence of Imaam uz-Zamaan (as) and the succession of the Du’aat ul-Akrameen (aq) – who does the Da’wat among us towards Imaam uz-Zamaan (as). Maazoon Saheb (dm) said, ‘O Mumineen, always remember the sacrifices of your A’immat-e-Taahereen (as) and Du’aat ul-Mutlaqeen (aq), who for the sake of protecting the Elaahi Da’wat, have embraced martyrdom. Da’wat-e-Alaviyah is the garden which has blossomed by the blood of Saiyedna Ali bin Ibraahim ash-Shaheed (aq). Du’aat-e-Ezaam (aq) has done innumerable favours and Ehsaan on us. We have flourished in the city of Vadodara since 319 years which was impossible for us without the blessings, guidance and truthfulness of Saiyedna Ziyauddin Jivabhai bin Noohji (aq) who migrated from Ahmedabad to Vadodara. Maazoon Saheb (dm) added that, ‘O Mumineen, it is the Ehsaan, Karam and Rehmat of Allaah on us that on this homeland of Saiyedna Ali (aq) the succession of 12 Du’aat ul-Hind has continued since 319 years and Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) who shares the name of Saiyedna Ziyauddin Jivabhai bin Noohji (aq) is the Naa’ib-e-Imaam uz-Zamaan (as) among us at present.
At the conclusion of the taqreer, Maazoon Saheb (dm) awarded the prices to the first three winners of the competition and said that, ‘I am pleased to listen to the speeches of the participants who spoke about Saiyedna Ali bin Ibraahim ash-Shaheed (aq) and all of them prayed to Allaah for the re-construction of the Quboor of Muqaddas Maulaa (aq). May Allaah listen to their touching and emotive Du’a, Aameen.’ Maazoon Saheb (dm) said that Insha Allaah we will organize a similar competition in the month of Moharram ul-Haraam highlighting the Anwaar of Maulaana Imaam Husain (as) and A’immat-e-Taahereen (as). Mulla Dilaawar husain Motiwala, who generously donated for the event, was remembered and honoured in the event. The student who spoke confidently and stood first among all participants was Nadiadwala Zainabiyah Abbaasali.
At the end of event, the ash’aar composed in shaan of Mukaasir ud-Da’watil Alaviyah by Maazoon Saheb (dm) was recited. Mumineen and the students also remembered him. Arrangement of lunch was done for all the mumineen and the students in the end of the event.
