The succession of Du’aat ul-Mutlaqeen al-Faatemiyeen dates back to 22nd Sha’baan 532 AH when, in Yaman, Saiyedah al-Mokarramah Hurrat ul-Malekah Arwa binte Ahmad (ra) appointed Saiyedna Zoaib bin Saiyedi Moosa al-Waade’i as the 1st Da’i ul-Mutlaq after her demise. This appointment was done by the command of Imaam uz-Zamaan (sa). The preparation of Istitaar-seclusion from the activity of worldly affairs, began during the time of 18th Faatemi Imaam Maulaana Mustansir Billaah (sa). The Imaam (sa) foresaw and secretly indicated about his Istitaar and accordingly prepared and guided his Hujjat. Saiyedah al-Mokarramah Hurrat ul-Malekah Arwa (ra) did the Khidmat of 4 A’immat (sa) and died at the ripe age of 92 yrs. She was the Hujjat of Imaam (sa) – the rank below the Baab of the Imaam (sa). She instructed Saiyedna Zoaib bin S Moosa (aq) that no Da’i would pass away without appointing the next Da’i and the successor.

Since then, the succession of Du’aat ul-Mutlaqeen continued in the pious lands of Yaman and India – and will continue till the Day of Qeyaamah – from one Da’i to another – through the spiritual appointment and carrying on the tradition of Nass. Every Da’i appoints his successor either publicly (Nass-e-Jali) or in private (Nass-e-Khafi) on various occasions among the mumineen. Following this Divine Sunnah, the 44th Da’i ul Mutlaq Saiyedna Abu Haatim Taiyeb Ziyauddin Saheb (aq) appointed his eldest son as his successor on numerous occasions – publicly as well as privately. His eldest son Saiyedi Haatim Zakiyuddin Saheb (dm) remained on the rank and darajah of Izn as Mazoon ud-Da’wat il-‘Alaviyah for 32 yrs. since 1404 AH.

At the ripe age of 85 yrs, 44th Da’i ul-Mutlaq Saiyedna Abu Haatim Taiyeb Ziyauddin Saheb (aq) left for the heavenly abode on 5th Sha’baan ul-Kareem 1436. Following the sunnah and rasam of previous Du’aat, the new Da’i who ascends over the Faatemi Throne should take the Bay’at-Misaaq of the Mumineen on behalf of Imaam uz-Zamaan (as) and make them enter under the ambit of Faatemi-Taiyebi faith and strengthen their spiritual relation with Ruhaani Darajaat as a 45th Da’i ul-Mutlaq. 15 days after the Rehlat of Muqaddas Saiyedna Taiyeb Ziyauddin Saheb (aq), the Mazoon ud-Da’wat il-‘Alaviyah ascended to the Darajah of 45th Da’i ul-Mutlaq of the Taiyebi ‘Alavi Jamaa’at on 20th Sha’baan ul-Kareem 1436, Sunday, 7th June 2015 AD.

It was the day of Eid il-Fitar for the Alavi Mumineen who witnessed this Historic Event after 42 yrs of the Takht Nasheeni of the then Saiyedna Taiyeb Ziyauddin Saheb (aq). The Ehtifaal and Jashn began with the Nooraani Sawaari of Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) which took off at one end of Badri Mohalla. Crowd of Mumineen started gathering from the morning itself. With the slogans of Mubaarakbaadi, tunes of Madeh and fragrance of flowers and garlands, the Nooraani Sawaari entered al Masjid un Nooraani at 10 am. Huzoor-e-‘Aali ascended over the Takht-e-Faatemi as the 45th Da’i ul-Mutlaq Haatim ul-Khayraat wa Rabee’ ul-Barakaat Abu Sa’eed il-Khayr Saiyedna Haatim Zakiyuddin Saheb (tus).

The event of Mubaarakbaadi started with the Tilaawat of the Qur’an. Abyaat and Ash’aar were recited by the Zaakereen-e-Da’wat. Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) began his first Bayaan as the Da’i ul-Mutlaq with the Mubaarakbaadi of the Mumineen. He recited the Khutbah of Hamd of Allaah and the Waseelah of Khamsat ul-Athaar (sa). He reminisced the last moments of Muqaddas Saiyedna Saheb (aq). He highlighted the historical account of the succession of Du’aat ul-Mutlaqeen (aq). He stressed on his goals which the community needs to achieve in his era. He said that it was the Will of Muqaddas Maula to glorify the name of Alavi Jamaa’at with Education, Employment and Empowerment.

Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) took the Misaaq of the mumineen in the Masjid. After the Misaaq, mumineen were given the sharaf of Qadambosi and Dastbosi. Intizaam of Ta’aam was done for the mumineen at the end of the event.

Saiyedna Saheb (tus) proposed several projects for the Jamaa’at and invited all mumineen to participate wholeheartedly and work dedicatedly to complete them as early as possible.

• To construct a Masjid and Community Hall behind the Musaafir-khaana in Ahmedabad. Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) gave Razaa to a generous businessman of Ahmedabad to complete the work.
• To reconstruct the Masjid of Fakhri Mohalla. Selected mumineen were called upon and given the responsibility of rebuilding the mosque.
• To establish an Alavi Township in the outskirts of Vadodara for Alavi Mumineen which should include a Masjid, Madrasah, Community Hall etc.
• To start Haatemi Scholarship Program for the needy Alavi students.
• To build an Alavi Hospital for the mumineen. Initial step to this huge project would be starting a poly clinic for the mumineen.
• To reconstruct the Taiyebi Masjid at Ajwa Road in such a way that all mumineen residing there should get accommodated comfortably in the Namaaz.
• To utilize the space above the tenants at Dabhoi Road for the mumineen.
• To reclaim the property of Maaru Falia by vacating the tenants and utilize it for the interest of mumineen.
